Clinical Coordinator “NYU Tutor Project in Italy”

Prof. Dr. Roberto Conte, an implant surgeon with 40 years of experience at the highest levels, has been actively involved in the field of implantology since 1981. He obtained his medical and surgical degree in 1977 from the University of Padua and has been registered with the Medical and Dental Association of Padua since June 9, 1978.

Throughout his career, Dr. Conte has continually pursued professional development and excellence. In 2002, he earned a POST GRADUATE specialization in implantology from New York University, focusing on Pterygoid implants. His involvement with NYU dates back to 1996, where he participated in courses and conferences on Pterygoid implants, conducting personal studies and research.

Dr. Conte has a strong educational background, having completed specialized courses in implant anatomy at the University Claude Bernard Lyon and obtaining a diploma in implantology anatomy. He serves as a lecturer in the specialization course of implant anatomy at the University Jean Monnet Saint Etienne.

His commitment to advancing implantology is evident in his participation in the “Zygomatic Implantology” Master’s program at the University of Pisa. Dr. Conte is also an author of publications, contributing to the European Journal of Implant Prosthodontics with a focus on maxillary sinus ring closure and immediate provisionalization, presenting three clinical cases.

Not only has he published in Italy (Dental Cadmos) and Germany (ZMK Zahneilkunde, Management Und Kultur), but Dr. Conte has also presented conferences on implantology in various locations, including Belgrade, Essen, and New York.

Dr. Roberto Conte practices his profession at his studios located at Via Marconi 115, Cadoneghe (Padua), and Via Ada Negri, Oria Brindisi. His dedication to staying at the forefront of implantology techniques and technologies is a testament to his commitment to providing the highest level of care to his patients.

“Images showcasing Professor Roberto Conte’s presence and guidance in advanced courses on implantology. He thoroughly explains techniques in zygomatic and pterygoid implantology tailored for implant doctors. These methodologies stand as a proven solution for fixed dental rehabilitation in severe atrophies of the posterior upper jaw, eliminating the need for grafts and extensive sinus lifts. The pictures capture Professor Conte in the midst of his expertise and commitment, teaching innovative and reliable solutions for dental restoration.”

In these images, we see Professor Roberto Conte dissecting a cadaver to delve into human anatomy in strategically important areas. This not only enriches his understanding but also serves as a learning opportunity for attending physicians, focusing on the real zones of surgical interest. The goal is to identify pathways and areas where veins, arteries, and nerves are located or intersect, including normal veins. Additionally, the aim is to pinpoint the critical anatomical area for the insertion of the pterygoid implant, an absolutely essential and strategic component in definitive fixed solutions for patients with atrophy. This implant, along with the transverse nasal implant, is designed to support the posterior weight of a dental prosthesis during chewing phases. Professor Dr. Roberto Conte: A Pioneer in Global Dental Implantology

Professor Dr. Roberto Conte stands as one of the true pioneers in the global field of dental implantology. With over 42 years of career experience, marked by an unwavering commitment to excellence, he has reached a significant milestone of 3000 cadaver dissections, refining his expertise to the highest levels.

Throughout his distinguished career, Professor Conte has dedicated himself to addressing complex challenges, particularly the severe atrophies of the posterior upper jaw. His extensive studies in this anatomical region, focusing on the pterygoid process with its intricate implications, incisions, and ramifications, culminated in the development and implementation of his surgical technique: the Galileus Cerclage Sinus®.

Named for its revolutionary approach, the Galileus Cerclage Sinus® forms a circle around the maxillary sinuses, enclosing and surrounding them with two robust dental implants strategically placed in the remaining bone areas. These implants serve as the foundation for future dental prosthetics, securely attached for effective chewing in these crucial posterior regions.

The pterygoid implant is anchored in the alveolar bone of the right maxilla, secured in the palatine-pterygoid basal bone and driven until reaching the cortical plates of the sphenoid. With a torque force of approximately 100 Newton-millimeters, this 19/21 mm implant ensures a masticatory load for the next 20/30 years. The remarkable resilience of the basal bone, coupled with its enduring hardness, contributes to the implant’s long-term stability.

On the opposite side, progressing toward the canine in the premaxilla, a transverse implant of approximately 18/19 mm is inserted towards the nasal spine, effectively resolving severe posterior maxillary atrophy. This dual implant approach creates a stable foundation, visible as a protective circle surrounding the maxillary sinuses, fortifying the posterior maxilla for the patient’s future chewing satisfaction.

This groundbreaking technique eliminates the need for grafts, large lifts, and other procedures like All-on-4, All-on-6, and zygomatic quad. While these methods address the maxillary sinuses, they lack additional implant support in the posterior zones essential for effective posterior dental chewing.

The alternative approach involving grafts and lifts often results in uncertainty, as there are no guarantees once the bone has grown. These techniques, unfortunately, lack the necessary assurances for long-term success.

Professor Dr. Roberto Conte’s Galileus Cerclage Sinus® technique emerges as a paradigm shift, providing a definitive, optimal, and permanent solution to severe atrophies in these critical zones, setting new standards in the world of dental implantology.

Prof. Roberto Conte: Expertise in Complex Dental Implant Procedures

Prof. Roberto Conte excels in performing intricate dental implant procedures, including zygomatic and pterygoid implantation, Galileus Cerclage Sinus interventions, and subperiosteal implantation grid procedures. These surgeries are specifically tailored for highly atrophic cases, presenting significant surgical challenges. However, Prof. Conte’s extensive experience and skill ensure successful outcomes, bringing joy to patients who had almost given up hope of regaining fixed teeth, regardless of the associated costs.

In-Depth Anatomical and Physiognomic Studies for the Perfect Implant-Prosthetic Protocol

Prof. Roberto Conte dedicates himself to in-depth studies of anatomy and physiognomy to develop the perfect implant-prosthetic protocol. This detailed research aims to fully and precisely understand the anatomical and physiognomic characteristics of each patient, enabling the design of personalized protocols.

Through this approach, Prof. Conte ensures that each implant-prosthetic intervention is tailored to the specific needs and conditions of the patient, maximizing the effectiveness and success of the procedures.
